Editorial policy

Screen Time Experts is published by Snitch Ltd, the company behind the Snitch screen time app. This page explains how we write our guides, so you can decide how much weight to give them.

Our own app

  • Every guide says under its title that it’s written by the team behind Snitch.
  • Whenever Snitch appears in a list, table or recommendation, it’s labelled as ours.
  • Most guides help with a problem, and Snitch comes up only where it fits. Free and built-in options come first.
  • Links to Snitch carry tracking tags, so we can see which guides people find useful.

Prices and features

  • We take prices and features from each product’s own website or its App Store or Google Play listing, and link to the source.
  • Each guide says when we checked prices. App prices vary by country and change often, so we recheck them every quarter.
  • Where we couldn’t confirm something, we say so rather than guess.

How we treat rival apps

  • We compare like with like, and we say where a rival does something better than Snitch.
  • We don’t use other companies’ logos or screenshots. Names are only there so you know what we’re talking about.
  • We never make up reviews, testimonials, users or quotes. We only quote real people with their written permission.

Health

We write about habits, not medicine. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no app here is a treatment for anything. If your phone use is tied to feeling anxious or low, talking to your GP is a good step.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, email info@getsnitch.co.uk. We’ll fix it and update the date on the guide. That goes double for anything we’ve said about a rival app.
