Reddit is a rabbit hole with infinite tunnels. Blocking the app isn’t enough, because reddit.com works fine in a browser. Here’s how to block both.

iPhone

The app: Settings, then Screen Time, then App Limits, then Add Limit. Find Reddit (usually under Social or Information & Reading), set a time and tap Add.

The website: Screen Time, then Content & Privacy Restrictions, then App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then Web Content, then Limit Adult Websites. Add reddit.com under Never Allow.

Lock it: set a Screen Time passcode someone else holds (Lock Screen Time Settings), and turn on Block at End of Limit.

On iOS 27, App Limits is called Time Allowances, website blocking is under Apps & Websites, and the passcode is under Passcode & Management.

Android

The app: Settings, then Digital Wellbeing & parental controls. Tap the chart, find Reddit and set an app timer.

The website: in the same chart, tap Chrome, then Show sites, and set a timer on reddit.com. This only works in Chrome.

On a computer

A desktop blocker like Freedom covers the website across your devices. (We compare it with our app in Snitch vs Freedom.)

Want friends to keep you honest?

Add Reddit to your Snitch group’s limited apps. You and your friends share a daily time pot, so an hour in r/AmItheAsshole costs the group. Works on iPhone and Android, and on Android it can block sites in your browser too.
